“Oh no…” These words escape your lips as you look at tomorrow’s weather forecast.

You spent weeks planning this trip, sacrificing whatever spare time you had to pore over endless videos and blog posts like a conspiracy theorist to make sure you had the perfect itinerary. Everyone’s going to have fun now. That’s what you thought.

But Mother Nature chose violence and decided to bitch slap your itinerary and send it flying to hell.

Yep, it’s raining tomorrow. And now you need to figure out what you’re going to do.

But don’t worry, because I have 2 AMAZING rainy day activities in Taipei to share with you that other websites won’t have.

Here we go!

CyberCube Jump Game

Ready to feel like a kid again?

Cybercube is a game attraction where 1-10 people have 1 hour to complete a series of obstacle course challenges. The novelty comes from the game stage, which is made of 480 cube floor tiles that change color and respond to touch.

To beat the level, you have to tag all the blue tiles. But wait! You must also avoid the red tiles because touching them will reduce your life points. Lose all your life points, and you restart the level.

Sounds easy enough, but did I mention you have to complete the level before the time runs out? And also that the red tiles will move around?

I went with my family, and by the end, after only 1 hour, we were completely drenched in sweat but all of us agreed we had a total blast. Apparently, only 1% of groups have been able to beat level 10, which is the last level. We only got to level 7, so I definitely wanted to come back and try it again.

Fun Lock Escape Room

One of Fun Lock’s beautifully designed escape rooms

In case you don’t know what an escape room is, it’s a game where you are locked in a room that you need to escape before the time runs out (usually 1 hour). In the room are puzzles that give you clues to help you escape. Escape rooms exploded in popularity several years ago because it gave us a new fun way to bond with friends or coworkers.

Fun Lock has multiple escape rooms, each with a different story and difficulty level. As it was our first time at Fun Lock, the staff recommended Song of Inari, which I feel is a great choice for people that can’t read Chinese.

I’ve been to many of these in New York, but I still enjoyed Fun Lock more because of the beautiful set design and creative puzzles.

Not to mention the price in Taipei is also 3 times cheaper? (New York is about $45 per person while here it was around $13)

I also felt the puzzles were more difficult than what I had tried in NYC. Song of Inari was their easiest room, but I still thought it was more challenging than the hardest room I had done in NYC. It made me really want to try all the other rooms next time.

If you live in Taiwan, you can book using their website: https://funlockstudio.com/

If you are just traveling, Fun Lock says to message them directly on their facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Funlockstudio

Note: Fun Lock isn’t on the 1st floor, you have to enter the building, which you can see in Fun Lock’s street view, and then go inside to look at the floor directory to find Fun Lock.

Conclusion

And that’s it! I had an amazing and memorable time at these two attractions but I’ve never seen them ever mentioned in any online guides before which is why I’m sharing them with you!

Hopefully, these activities brighten up your rainy day in Taipei! Until next time! PEACE!
